The receiving line is an opportunity for the couple and their parents to say hello to each guest, as well as to thank them for attending. Guests might thank the hosts for inviting them or comment on the ceremony, but the conversations should be kept short to keep the line moving.

    * Anniversary Dance - This is where the longest-married couple will be acknowledged at the end of a dance and then presented with the bride's bouquet.
Our suggested method for the last dance is to have the guests form a circle around the bride and groom. At some point during the last dance, I will ask the bride and groom to break off to go around the circle and say goodbye to their friends and family. Please specify if you would like us NOT to perform the last dance in this manner! This dance is usually performed 15 minutes prior to the end of the reception.
